Diet a good four letter word
Whether you want to admit it or not, Diet is probably one of the most important aspects of life. I know for most the thought of the word simply puts fear into your minds but it does not have to be this way. In order to really understand the situation we need to re-evaluate what this word actually means. It does not mean you have to starve yourself and deprive yourself of food. In fact it means the exact opposite. You can still eat you just need to be more conscious of what you are putting into your body.
Here is a good example, lets say you have two choices for breakfast. Choice number one is a bowl of Frosted flakes with 1 cup of 2% milk, total amount of calories might be in the neighborhood of 450-500. Choice number 2 would be 2 slices of flax seed bread with 5 egg whites total calories of 450-500. What is the better choice? Well if you guessed choice number 1 you really need to seek some help. Its easy to see here that the healthier choice is egg whites and flax bread. Even though you are consuming the same amount of calories, the protein, fiber and clean carbohydrates you get from choice number 2 will help you stay fuller longer and give your body the extra nutrients that it needs.
Its easy to see from the example above that its the choices we make that really make a difference in our lives. We all need to really understand that diet and exercise are two foundations that are needed in order to live a cleaner longer life. The important thing to take away from this article is that we are not looking to starve ourselves. In fact its quite the opposite. We should be looking at how we can fill ourselves with food that will help us to grow and stay strong.
